To have your appeal be successful, many things need to occur.  You need to have a lawyer who

  1. Knows how to analyze the record of proceedings from a trial court and determine if there are legitimate appellate issues.
  2. Ensure that the appellate record is properly assembled by the clerk of the trial court.
  3. Draft a skillful and thorough appellate brief.
  4. Argue vigorously before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court.
Make sure you hire a lawyer who can fluently discuss each of these steps.  That’s the first step on the road to a successful appeal.
